Metrology for optical components

The properties of the manufactured optical elements are recorded and digitally documented using metrological means of optical inspection such as tactile stylus instruments, form testing interferometers or wavefront sensors. For this purpose, a data structure was developed which describes the properties of an optical lens and is based on DIN10110. In addition to the measurement data, the associated measurement uncertainties as well as the nominal values and permissible manufacturing tolerances of the lens can also be stored in the data structure. The measurement data is stored in a database in the developed data structure independently of the measuring device and is thus available for quality assurance and for use in other production steps such as optical assembly.

Examples of research topics that we work on together with our partners:

  • Testing of micro optics and microstructures
  • Function-oriented testing
  • Referencing of measurement data
