White paper "Development of a data structure for the description of nominal and measurement properties of optical elements"

Various measurement systems used during optics production generate large amounts of data - in very different data formats. In order to be able to analyze these data consistently and use them in the production process, they must be brought together in a common structure and related to each other. The data structure is thus a central element for describing a digital twin of optical components. The white paper "Development of a data structure for the description of nominal and measurement properties of optical elements" describes the procedure for developing a data structure in JSON format as well as the implementation in a database for process parameters used in optical production.

White paper "Digitized assembly of complex optical systems"

Ever smaller, ever more efficient: Future optical systems are characterized by increasing miniaturization and complexity. For the production of such systems, this means achieving the same or even higher product quality with ever smaller manufacturing tolerances. Digital concepts for automated precision assembly that are integrated into a networked production environment pave the way to this goal, concludes the Aachen-based Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technology IPT: A white paper produced as part of a research project on the efficient networking of production systems now takes a closer look at the potential of automated optical assembly.
